Helsinki Festival film programme now includes free outdoor screenings at Kinopiha as well as two films by Isaac Julien and a special free screening of Peter von Bagh's latest documentary. Opening this year's open-air cinema Kinopiha is the Congolese Staff Benda Bilili's incredible journey from dreams to reality. Treated to a rapturous reception at Cannes, this Cinderella tale tells the story of a band of musicians severely disabled by polio. Read more about Kinopiha. The stars of the documentary, the Staff Benda Bilili orchestra will be performing at the Huvila festival tent. Kunsthalle Helsinki's exhibition features Isaac Julien's latest installation Ten Thousand Waves. To coincide with the exhibition, two of the artist's films will receive a screening at Orion cinema as part of Helsinki Festival. Read more.
