Theatre critic Michael Billington reviewed Enda Walsh & Druid Theatre Company's Penelope, depicting it as "a wild, crazy, word-drunk piece that intoxicates and baffles, but is destined to lodge in the memory". The play recently premiered at the Galway Arts Festival, from where it has started its journey to Stage Festival through several festivals in the UK.

Helsinki Festival will be kicked off with a new Opening Club on 20 August.

Teemu Korpipää will replace Jori Hulkkonen in the collaboration project with Avanti! Chamber Orchestra. Together, Korpipää and Avanti! will create an experience in which the sound worlds of techno, dub and noise meet contemporary music such as the compositions of Philip Glass.
