Welcome to our Open House 25 August 2016

We have the pleasure of welcoming all of you who are either already involved or interested in the activities and services of the FINNBRIT to come along and join us for a fun English day!

We are pleased to announce that our doors will be open for everyone all day on the 25 August on the Night of the Arts. We have a full programme designed to give you a good impression of who we are and how we can help you or your company with your language needs. Please note that there are limited numbers of places for the free level testing and the free English lessons, therefore pre-booking is essential! Otherwise just pop in!

Come and find out your current level of English. We will offer free level testing from noon until evening! The test includes a short written part and an interview with an experienced native English teacher and will take approximately 30 minutes per person.

IELTS – You can’t fail!
Roger will give you advice on how to maximize your score in the IELTS test (International English Language Testing system).

Improving your International Communication skills with Cambridge English
Neil will give short introduction to the different Cambridge Exams and give you a taster of what the preparation courses are like.

The Sound of English
Penny, your personal trainer in pronunciation, will show you how to gradually help you build accuracy and fluency in a practical and fun way.

Songs and Stories from Ireland
Join Malcolm, who is an English teacher and a professional musician and hails from Dublin, on a cultural tour of Ireland through song, music and literature.

Handy with your English Tools
Tomás will take you on a quick tour of English grammar.

Learn English through Humour
Join a tour of English humour with Ian. Humour is not a science and discussing what makes something funny, or not, is a great way to enhance our language use. Satire, sarcasm, black comedy, knock-knock jokes, slapstick, parody, spoof, irony, farce, pun and wordplay; where to start?

Improvisation Theatre –what is it?
Come along and meet our “impro enthusiast”, Sampo, to find out what improvisation theatre is all about.
